How would I go about buying scrap aluminum by the tons?

Is there a certain process you go through to buy scrap metal? How would I go about buying scrap aluminum by the tons and shipping it overseas? Does anyone have any experience with this?

    Go to the recycling center where people bring aluminum and offer to buy some or set up your own recycling center to buy a little bits from consumers.

    You would be competing with the big boys on this one so I doubt you would have a great deal of success. Waste managment and others have this down to a science and you will probalby not be able to crack this. You might go to one of the local landfills or transfer stations and ask to form a partnership.
